When Andrea and I started planning this photoshoot, we knew it had to be something extraordinary. She’s an Idahoan like me, so we instantly clicked over our shared love for the West and its natural beauty. When we met up in San Diego to bring our vision to life, I couldn’t wait to combine her style with the stunning landscapes of Ocean Beach, California.

The beach set the perfect stage for Andrea’s jaw-dropping wardrobe. Imagine this: the waves crashing dramatically, the golden light of the setting sun, and Andrea stepping out in a brown velvet dress with vintage pearls that brought timeless elegance to the scene. Then she switched into white fur and denim that felt effortlessly chic and bold. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, she appeared in a gold dress paired with a fur hat—a look so striking it could have graced the cover of a magazine.

As the sun dipped lower, everything about the shoot became even more magical. The light turned golden, the waves sparkled, and the sky began to shift into dreamy pinks and purples. It was as if nature had joined our creative team, putting on its best show just for us.

Some of my favorite moments came after sunset when Andrea’s hair was wet and glossy from the ocean spray. Her reflection in the wet sand, paired with the deep purple sky, created images that felt straight out of a dream. She looked like a sea goddess, radiating confidence and beauty in every shot.

This photoshoot reminded me why I love creating in nature so much. Even though I’m based in Washington, D.C., the call of the West is always in my heart. The wide-open spaces, the endless skies, and the raw, untamed beauty of places like California inspire me in ways that nothing else can. And capturing Andrea’s story in this setting was a perfect blend of creativity, connection, and pure magic.
