Some nights stay with you forever, and Camille and Rob’s sunset engagement session in Virginia Beach was exactly that kind of magic. The summer sky painted itself in dreamy shades of pink and blue, the waves rolled in like a soft rhythm, and the air was alive with their energy—magnetic, playful, and so undeniably them.

Newly engaged and craving an adventure, Camille and Rob knew they wanted a session that felt like them and always reminded them of the place they fell in love. As their photographer, I got to witness something so beautiful: the way they held onto each other and moved like the world disappeared the moment they locked eyes.

We leaned into their fun and easy energy, playing with different outfits that let their personalities shine. The ocean was the perfect backdrop and setting for us to play. Camille, also a Boise girl, wanted a few “western inspired” shots, so she threw on a cowboy hat as Rob twirled her around. I offered gentle guidance here and there, but truly, they needed no direction. Their love spoke for itself, real and genuine.

This is why I believe beautiful photos can happen anywhere. It’s not about finding the fanciest venue or the trendiest backdrop. It’s about finding a place that feels like home—where you can move freely and create memories that reflect who you are. For Camille and Rob, Virginia Beach wasn’t just a scenic spot; it was a piece of their story. A place that resonated with their souls and gave them the adventure they were seeking.

Whether it’s a crashing shoreline, a sunlit mountaintop, or the backyard you grew up in, the location of your wedding day or engagement should mean something to you. It’s your story, after all. Let’s create something that feels like stepping into a favorite memory you’ll carry with you forever.
