There’s something magical about fall in Washington DC. When Emily and Cory reached out wanting photos to decorate their home with photos that felt like them and their love, we knew a cozy and romantic fall session would be perfect. They wanted something special and local to DC, not staged or overdone, and Logan Circle felt like the perfect warm setting.

Logan Circle is a dream in the fall. With its tall, historic buildings, vibrant neighborhoods, and iconic gingko trees, it’s a perfect mix of classic charm and urban beauty. I spent some time scouting the area and brainstorming how we could bring their vision to life, and when the day came, the pieces fell into place beautifully.

We started the shoot at Le Diplomate, a quintessential french DC resturant with gorgeous outdoor seating that set the mood for their session. Emily and Cory ordered cappuccinos and fell into their natural rhythm, chatting and laughing together as the world moved quietly around them.

I stayed in the background, capturing the way they looked at each other, their laughter and conversation that has kept them together for over 7 years. Le Dip’s server surprised them with glasses of champagne to toast to their love. Those images of them clinking glasses under the golden light are some of my favorites.

This session with Emily and Cory was everything I love about photographing couples: it was fun, easy, and full of genuine connection. Capturing their love story as it unfolded through the little moments was such a joy, and I loved seeing how they printed them to frame in their home, a beautiful reminder of their deep bond and connection over time.

If you’re dreaming of a session that’s as much about the experience as it is about the photos, let’s make it happen. Whether it’s a city stroll, an adventurous nature hike, or anything in between, I’d love to capture the story that’s uniquely yours. Reach out, and let’s create something beautiful together ♡
