Last year, I completed a dream project. 💭 12 months. 12 photoshoots. 12 astrological signs.
Astrology is the language of the stars—a cosmic map guiding us back to ourselves. I’ve always been so fascinated and inspired by how astrology can reveal the deeper layers of who we are, offering a lens to appreciate the unique traits in everyone I meet. Wherever you stand with astrology, it can be such an eye-opening tool for self-reflection. You can take whatever resonates with you and leave the rest. For me, it has always been a way to appreciate the unique traits in everyone I meet, and that inspiration eventually led me to create this portrait photography series—an artistic love letter to celebrate the individuality of all of us through the lens of the zodiac.
I’ll be honest—this project took far more work and energy than I ever anticipated, but the results were beyond rewarding. More than just a creative challenge, this series pushed me to step outside my client work, stretch my artistic muscles, and experiment with new ideas. I spent an entire year developing visual concepts for each zodiac sign and putting in the work to bring them to life.
Looking back, I can see so clearly how much this project gave back to me. Not only did I walk away with some of my strongest portfolio work to date, but I also gained a deeper understanding of creativity itself—how it unfolds over time. As artists, we often crave instant results, but this journey taught me the value of consistency, patience, and embracing the process rather than fixating on the outcome.
I am incredibly proud of this series. It reaffirmed that following my inspiration is the best way to connect with my unique artistic voice. This series of images felt like a true soul project—one that will mark a defining chapter in my creative journey. And, of course, the people I collaborated with made all the difference. Their energy, individuality, and openness helped bring these images to life in ways I never could have imagined.
Each of these photoshoots stands on its own, but together, they tell a story. Read more below about my vision for each zodiac sign and how I brought these archetypes to life visually:
Starting off strong with Aries!! ❤️🔥 The first sign in the zodiac, Aries is a fire sign: bold, willful, and electrifying. Aries placements are natural initiators, fearless in their pursuit of what sets their soul on fire. They are the motivators, the trailblazers, the ones who step into a room and shift the energy without even trying. Passionate, assertive, and unapologetically themselves, Aries charges forward, ready to start a new cycle.
I tend to photograph a lot of Aries people because they embody this magnetic confidence—they’re unafraid to take up space, to own who they are, and to chase what they want without hesitation. Aries season is a time of fresh starts, of shaking off the past and stepping boldly into something new. This shoot was all about capturing that raw, fiery essence—the unstoppable momentum, the spark of new beginnings, and the sheer power of self-expression.
With Aries being the first sign in my series, I wanted to visually highlight their bold and magnetic nature by playing with dramatic lighting—spotlights, flash photography, and pin spotlights to create that striking, high-energy feel. In the studio, my models wore fiery red dresses styled by Pink Autum, embodying Aries’ signature intensity and passion. We shot against a clean white backdrop for a crisp, high-contrast look and then switched to a deep, moody black backdrop, layering in rugs to add richness and depth. The result? A series that feels just as fierce, confident, and unstoppable as Aries themselves.
This concept came to life so beautifully, and I couldn’t have done it without my incredible creative team!!

Taurus is all about comfort, stability, grounding, and pleasure. As an Earth sign ruled by Venus, Taurus is deeply connected to the physical world—material abundance, beauty, and sensuality. These are the people who remind us to slow down, indulge, and fully embrace life’s simple pleasures. They thrive in the realm of nature, luxury, and effortless style, always carrying a sense of ease in how they move through the world.
Taurus season is a reminder to take our timeee. To enjoy our days fully, to savor what’s in front of us instead of rushing toward the future or dwelling in the past. Taurus = patience, presence, slowing down, indulging, pleasure, sensuality, beauty. Taurus teaches us what it means to be human—to be fully embodied, to experience life with all our senses.
Got to photograph a Taurus queen herself, @asenaleylaaa, at The National Botanical Gardens. We leaned into the earthy, natural vibes to visually express the steadiness and beauty of Taurus. Surrounded by lush greens, exotic plants, and the richness of nature, Asena moved with effortless grace and poise. She embodied that quiet strength and elegance that makes Taurus energy feel so grounding and secure. This shoot was all about capturing that essence—the beauty of being fully present, of indulging in the moment, of existing in harmony with the world around us.
Would love to hear from my Taurus loves—what’s your favorite simple pleasure? 💚♉
I’ve never met a Gemini who isn’t completely original, inventive, resourceful, adventurous, and open-minded. 🤍 Ruled by Air, these people are some of my absolute favorites for their adaptable and free-spirited nature (it’s also my rising sign ☺️). For this shoot, I wanted to design something that truly captured how it feels to be around Geminis—light, playful, and full of possibility. ☁️☁️
Also known as the Twins for their dualistic nature, I would argue that Geminis actually have way more than just two sides to them. They are shape-shifters, effortlessly flowing between conversations, interests, and ideas. They bring fresh perspectives into every space they enter, keeping things exciting, curious, and unexpected. Great communicators, endlessly dynamic, and often hard to pin down, Geminis are fueled by their insatiable curiosity and love for exploration.
To bring this to life, I knew I needed two models—a true embodiment of Gemini energy. I lucked out and found the perfect models, two blonde sisters Olivia & Brooke whose youthful, airy presence mirrored everything I wanted to capture about this sign. We leaned into the color green because to me, Gemini feels fresh, vibrant, and full of life. It’s a color that symbolizes new ideas, growth, and an open mind—qualities that define Geminis so well. The whole shoot felt breezy and effortless, just like the energy of this sign.
Creating this series for Gemini season was such a dream! 💭 I’m so proud of this work and feel so happy we got to bring the Twins to life in a way that truly honors their spontaneity, charm, and boundless creativity.
Cancer season pulls us into the depths—the realm of intuition, emotions, and deep inner worlds. As a water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer carries a natural ebb and flow, just like the tides. This is the sign of nurturing, sensitivity, and emotional depth—the feeling of home, safety, and the kind of love that lingers long after a moment has passed. Cancer energy isn’t loud or attention-seeking; it’s gentle yet powerful, protective yet endlessly giving.
For this shoot, I knew we had to bring water into the story. My stunning model Shanelle embodied Cancer’s fluid grace as we shot along the Potomac River—a setting that felt both peaceful and untamed, just like Cancer itself. What I didn’t expect? How hard it would be to shoot! Balancing on slick rocks while directing and framing the shots was its own adventure, but watching Shanelle move effortlessly at the water’s edge made it all worth it. As the sun began to set, she stepped into the water, embracing the soft, dreamlike essence of Cancer energy.
We incorporated a shell as a nod to Cancer’s deep connection to the ocean and the moon—a reminder of their protective nature and the way they carry their emotions like a home within them. The light shimmered across the water, mirroring the reflective, intuitive nature of this sign. Cancer feels everything deeply, often moving through life with an unseen strength, just like the waves—gentle on the surface, but carrying entire worlds beneath.
This shoot was all about honoring the soft, sacred, and deeply felt energy of Cancer season. The beauty in vulnerability, the quiet power of emotion, and the way water holds and transforms us.
Leos are pure solar energy—they bring the kind of radiance that makes you feel like the world is a little bit brighter just by being around them. Their bold, sunny personalities shine through every room they enter, and they have this natural ability to uplift and inspire everyone around them. So many of the people I love are Leos, with their warm hearts, confidence, and the way they unapologetically take up space. They’re truly the sun that makes everything feel alive.
For this shoot, I knew I had to match that bold, fiery energy, so when I saw this eye-catching yellow dress, I knew it was meant to be. We shot at the iconic Supreme Court in D.C. at sunset, and I can’t think of a more fitting location for a Leo! The white backdrop of the building provided the perfect contrast, making that pop of yellow really stand out.
Of course, there were a few bumps along the way—I was traveling to Idaho initially, planning on shooting this concept there, but the dress was back-ordered and arrived three weeks later than expected. But no matter the delay, @florayapi delivered. We made magic happen in an epic location and she shined! This shoot was everything I imagined it could be and more. It was truly meant to be.
Leos are a reminder for us all to live life with boldness, pride, and an open heart. Their ability to shine through any situation and remain true to themselves is something we can all learn from.
Virgo gives us the ability to take note and ground ourselves amidst chaos. It synthesizes and alchemizes, making something out of nothing. With precision, clarity, and patient dedication, Virgos breathe magic into the world and leave us feeling more aligned and attuned than ever before.
Virgo season comes at the beginning of fall, right after summer has peaked, and we are ready to jump back into order and organization. If you know a Virgo, you may sense that they tend to be quite particular about things being done the most efficient way. They are known for their high standards and perfectionistic qualities, and this energy is what I wanted to highlight in this shoot.
For this shoot, I focused on lines, symmetry, and precision to reflect Virgo’s precise nature. We shot at the Kennedy Center, and my model Dee absolutely crushed it. I wanted to find harsh, defined lines and shapes in the city to complement Virgo’s clean, organized energy. As we walked around, I was drawn to bright light that would create shadows and emphasize the structure of the surroundings, allowing Dee to stand out in a way that was as precise and immaculate as the Virgo energy itself.
The goal here was to create a spotless, “perfect” image—one that felt meticulously crafted, just like the Virgo spirit. We all have Virgos to thank for the organization and structure they bring to so many aspects of our lives. Personally, I admire this quality so much, and I hope to embody more of their exactness and attention to detail as I continue to refine my own work.
Virgos, thank you for your unwavering dedication to creating harmony and balance in the world. Your precision is inspiring, and your influence is felt everywhere. 🩵
Represented by the scales, Libra brings a balanced approach to life, always striving for harmony and equilibrium. Libras have an incredible gift for seeing both sides of a situation and softening even the toughest conflicts by getting to the heart of an issue with grace. To visually represent that elegance and Libra’s ability to make hard things seem effortless, I knew a ballerina would be the perfect fit.
Libras are all about reciprocity, ease, and balance. Their natural ability to bring people together and deepen relationships is rooted in their attention to how others feel in a space. Ruled by Venus, they are attuned to beauty, grace, and nurturing, often making things look effortless while silently carrying more than they let on. Libra season reminds us to soften our edges, to create harmonious exchanges with others, and to balance the energies around us.
I chose to capture a ballerina to symbolize Libra’s incredible poise and grace. We shot at the National Cathedral, and I can’t think of a better backdrop to represent the elegance and structure that Libras embody. Watching Sarah hold her poses on her toes for an hour while we shot was truly inspiring. She exemplified everything Libra represents—strength, beauty, and a quiet, unwavering dedication to her craft. Ballerinas deserve so much more applause for the effort and discipline they put into their art.
Libra season is here to remind us of the importance of balance and connection in our relationships and the world. 💙
Scorpio is the sign of mystery, allure, secrets, and shadows. Scorpios carry the depth of life that many of us often avoid, embracing transformation with a courage that few can match. The word that best describes Scorpios is “transformation”—the ability to move through darkness and uncertainty, shedding old layers to emerge renewed, like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.
Endings can feel incredibly painful, but they are ultimately there to awaken our souls to something greater. Scorpios teach us to trust the fall, to lean into the uncomfortable parts of ourselves, and to let go of what no longer serves us.
For this shoot, I wanted to capture the shadow, depth, and fire of transformation that is so intrinsic to Scorpio energy. I approached this project open-minded, allowing the environment to guide me. The result was more than I could have imagined—these photos are just as mysterious, haunting, and gorgeous as Scorpios themselves.
I had the pleasure of working with Mira, a stunning dark-haired model with an air of mystery about her. For this one, I deliberately leaned into the opposite of Libra’s light and grace—focusing on shadows and the unknown. We shot at the National Portrait Gallery in the evening, where the lighting and atmosphere perfectly aligned with the concept. Outside at twilight, I discovered red street lights that reflected beautifully on her face, creating powerful shadows that added depth and dimension to the images.
In the gallery, surrounded by sculptures, we highlighted Scorpio’s attunement to the past, the deep and rich energy they carry, and their ability to find power in both light and dark. These images feel like a visual manifestation of the Scorpio spirit—unapologetically raw, transformational, and beautifully intense.
Hope I did you justice, Scorpios. You are the embodiment of rebirth and mystery. 🔥🖤
Known as the Archer, the Horse, and the Seeker, Sagittarius is here to teach us that the sky is not a ceiling—it’s an invitation to dream bigger and embrace our limitless potential outside of our comfort zone. The Sagittarius spirit is all about exploration, expansion, and pushing boundaries. They are forever seeking new horizons, whether through travel, adventure, or the pursuit of knowledge and spiritual growth.
Horses, known for their strength, speed, and freedom, mirror Sagittarius’ wild and untamed energy. Just as horses roam vast landscapes, Sagittarians are constantly in pursuit of something greater, always aiming to go further and reach higher.
When I first thought of incorporating a horse into this shoot, I couldn’t shake the idea. I wanted to capture that deep connection between Sagittarius and their boundless spirit, but it was so challenging to find the right model and setting. After much searching, I found Brooke, who turned out to be the perfect subject. She modeled with such grace and ease, embodying the Sagittarius energy I had envisioned. We shot on a horse farm in Virginia where she boards her horse Oscar, and the chemistry between them was undeniable. It felt like the perfect pairing, with the horse mirroring that free-spirited, adventurous, and wild nature of Sagittarius.
The shoot was an absolute dream. I wanted to channel the wild yet steady nature of horses, while also highlighting their incredible companionship. The bond between Brooke and Oscar was so beautiful to witness, and it perfectly showcased the Sagittarius connection to both independence and unity with nature.
This shoot was my favorite, as it came together so beautifully and illustrated the feeling of being free, grounded, and connected to our inner nature. Sagittarius teaches us that the adventure isn’t just about the destination—it’s about how we grow along the way, and I think these images capture that energy perfectly.
Thank you to Brooke and her horse for bringing this vision to life. 🏹✨
Capricorn season brings a deep, grounded energy—one rooted in resilience, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of goals. For this part of my Astrology series, I wanted to capture that powerful, unwavering determination through a mix of black and white stills against an industrial, structured setting.
Capricorns are the masters of the zodiac. They teach us the value of consistent hard work, devotion, and sustainable effort. Mastery is a practice, a commitment to striving, not arriving—a concept Capricorn embodies better than any other sign.
I had the pleasure of shooting with Stefano (@steffresh), a man with great style and cool energy. We met at Union Market in the evening and wandered around the area, using the stark, industrial architecture as our backdrop. The contrast between Stefano’s sharp, focused energy and the structured, gritty urban setting felt like the perfect way to capture the essence of Capricorn.
He did an amazing job posing against the concrete and steel buildings, embodying Capricorn’s ability to stay steady, focused, and always striving forward, no matter the obstacles in front of them. His presence brought the quiet strength and ambition of the sign to life, and I couldn’t have asked for a better model to represent this energy.
I wanted these images to reflect Capricorn’s drive to build something lasting, their strategic mind, and their unmatched resilience. These photos are an homage to their commitment to success and their ability to turn dreams into reality. 🖤✨
Guys, I had so much fun making this one! I’m biased, of course, because it’s my own sign, but I really wanted to capture the Aquarian spirit perfectly, and I think we nailed it ⚡️⚡️
Aquarius is commonly thought to be a water sign, but they are actually air signs! They’re the free spirits, eccentric individuals, and unapologetically quirky people who make the world a lot more interesting. They’re visionaries who march to the beat of their own drum, always thinking outside of the box and challenging norms. Known for their intellectual depth and humanitarian hearts, they’re not just about personal growth but about elevating the collective 🤝💡
Aquarians are often misunderstood for their aloof and radical ways, but they are the change makers our world so desperately needs. They bring a refreshed perspective to situations that need it and elevate others to see their potential for growth. Their ability to own themselves completely without caring about what others think is also quite liberating and gives others permission to do the same.
For this shoot, I really wanted to capture not just their individuality but also the deep emotional layers they often hide beneath the surface—making them complex, intriguing, and unforgettable 🌩️
I had amazing makeup help from Lux by Lily, who created this stunning electric blue winged eyeliner look on our model, “G,” who was a true gem to work with. She was absolutely phenomenal, posing in unique and quirky ways that perfectly reflected Aquarius energy. To add another layer of creativity, I used a projector in the bathroom to project clouds and water over her face, creating this dynamic, ever-changing effect—G really brought it to life with her expressions.
With an Aquarius, anything is possible. They see the bigger picture and are always in relentless pursuit of it. They’re not afraid of change and embrace it with open arms. Aquarians teach us to trust and embrace the unknown, knowing that every path we take will lead us back to ourselves.
Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac, embodies the culmination of all the signs before it. Ruled by Neptune, it holds deep spiritual, intuitive, and transcendent energy, existing in the space between reality and fantasy, individuality and unity. Pisces teaches us that we are all interconnected, woven into the same cosmic fabric, and that boundaries blur between the self and the collective.
This shoot was born from that essence—the balance between individuality and togetherness. Each model brought their own unique energy, but together, they created something greater than themselves. It was a visual meditation on how we exist both as individuals and as part of something larger, dissolving the barriers that separate us.
Pisces reminds us that we are everything, everyone—there is no true divide between you and me, between love and loss, past and present. This series explores the idea that our identities are shaped by our connection to others and the unseen forces that tie us together.
As the final zodiac sign in the series, I really wanted to go out with a bang for Pisces. For this shoot, I was all about making a statement while honoring the fluid, dreamlike energy that Pisces embodies. We kicked off the day with makeup by Sarah Khan Artistry, who really helped bring the ethereal vibe to life, setting the tone for the entire shoot.
I had the incredible Franzi, Anna, and Gabrielle as my models—each of them so unique in their looks, but somehow, when we brought them together in these vibrant pink, yellow, and purple suits, the energy just clicked. It was like the colors united them in a way that perfectly captured the essence of Pisces: individuality woven into a larger, beautiful tapestry. The contrast between their styles and how the suits tied it all together felt like the perfect representation of the balance between being distinct yet interconnected.
For Pisces, the final piece of the zodiac, this was the perfect way to close out the series—bright, bold, and full of life.
